Purpose of role


This is a broad generalist role providing support to the Market Risk & Liquidity control manager, the Regulatory reporting manager as well as the broader Financial Control team.


Core accountabilities


The role holder will have the following primary areas of accountability:



  1. Market Risk & Liquidity Control


Completion of daily, weekly and monthly reporting on key market risks for the BarSuisse entity in an accurate and timely manner. This includes daily FX and Interest Rate VAR reporting and monitoring in line with strict limits.



  1. Product Control


The role holder will perform daily and monthly reporting of FX, STEX and Treasury P&Ls in an accurate and timely manner, with comprehensive explanations for any large variances.



  1. Regulatory reporting


The role holder will support the Regulatory Capital manager to ensure that all statistics are completed accurately and in accordance with strict deadlines to the Swiss National bank



  1. Accounting Costs


Monthly cost accruals for the Swiss platform will be analysed and booked by the role holder who also perform variance analysis on cost movements.



  1. Group reporting


The role holder will work with our offshore team to ensure that monthly group reporting is completed within group deadlines and all related queries are addressed.



  1. Finance team support


The role holder will support a variety of other activities across the finance team including adhoc tasks and analysis, exceptional payments etc


Role requirements


Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards


Professional/technical experience


The ideal candidate will have knowledge of standard banking products and Swiss accounting rules as well as Avaloq.


Academic and professional qualifications


The successful candidate will be a part-qualified / qualified accountant; or with equivalent work experience.


The ideal candidate should have advanced skills in Excel and basic knowledge of VBA.


Language skills


The successful candidate will have advanced spoken and written English; a working knowledge of French would be an advantage.
