Job Description

Job Purpose:



Provide strategic leadership and direction for global publication strategy and execution, MSL strategy for external HCP engagement and communication, and medical information, in strong alignment with Global Product Team (GPT) and the Integrated Disease and Product Strategy (IDAPs) teams for launch strategies and life cycle management.



Define, implement and drive Medical Information Excellence in alignment with the SEC team across Global Medical Affairs, WW Franchises, Regions and CPOs.



Partner with cross divisional medical information teams to align on the overall strategy for Medical Information Excellence to ensure sustainable delivery and continuous enhancement.



Drive development and implementation of innovative business approaches, processes and technologies to ensure a worldwide efficient Medical Information model while focusing on high productivity.



Major Accountabilities



1. Operational line management of Scientific Communication and MI Managers, as well as field medical manager.



2. Accountable for all aspects of scientific communication strategy across franchise directly or indirectly including:



• Scientific Platform including scientific statements aligned with strategy in partnership with IDMT

• Development of global publication plan through cross-functional alignment (GMA, Stats, Legal/Regulatory)

• Development of comprehensive global communication and medical education program in alignment with GMA, GPT and affiliates

• Congress scientific communications across franchise for key international congresses



3. Lead long-term functional excellence initiatives and their implementation across Scientific Communication and MSL/MI in partnership with SEC Center of Excellence.

4. Direct implementation of metrics, KPI and KQI to optimize quality and productivity



5. Develop and maintain strong working relationships and actively collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders (Franchise Head, GPTs, OTM, legal/regulatory, medical experts, speakers, consultants, and professional societies).



6. Build a high-performance team and support/foster career development of direct reports through active participation in performance management and talent planning processes.



7. Optimally manage, forecast, and allocate team budget and resources



8. Ensure compliance with all legal regulatory and Novartis requirements for all processes and activities (e.g. P3, ICMJE, industry codes, relevant SOPs)



9. Provide leadership, strategic direction, and senior level expertise to lead the Field Medical Excellence, and drive for constant enhancement to accommodate to a changing healthcare environment

Financial responsibility:

Responsible for financial/resource decisions within scope of assigned authority.

Well-managed and effective publications and education resulting in the timely delivery of high quality analysis of clinical trial data. Novartis seen as a credible, ethical and preferred partner by key investigators in Oncology.




Minimum requirements

Education:

Advanced scientific degree or equivalent education/degree in life science /healthcar accompanied with ≥ 6 years phamaceutical indystry.

Or

Bachelor degree or equivalent education/degree in life science/healthcare accompanies with ≥ 10 years pharmaceutical industr



Languages:
