Position Summary


Sales Manager will be in charge of sales and potentially key account management within the Performance Chemicals segment in EMEA focusing on FMO and Specialty Carbons businesses. He/she will be managing the book of business at EMEA-based and potentially global accounts. The incumbent will work closely with multifunctional team including marketing, technical service, operations and other members of the regional and global organization. The Sales Manager will be supporting the execution of the regional marketing strategy and introduction of new products.

FMO business is offering fumed silicas that are available with either hydrophobic or hydrophilic surfaces. These products have a variety of applications, including adhesives, coatings, food, pharmaceuticals, sealants, and rubbers.

Our Specialty Carbons business is developing carbon blacks that deliver color, conductivity, mechanical performance and ultraviolet (UV) protection for specialty applications such as coatings, adhesives plastics, toners, and printing inks.

The location of this role can be, but not limited to the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Italy.


Job Responsibilities



  • Manages accounts within EMEA territory and performs all aspects of key account management.

  • Drives both current and future value for Cabot via (key) account planning by alignment with multifunctional team on account plan and strategy.

  • Effectively communicates and negotiates complex sales contracts with customers. Educates customers on new products and product enhancements; articulates and presents product features and benefits. Develops and maintains business relationships often involving high levels of management.

  • Leverages and coordinates resources within the region to provide support to customer as needed.

  • Develops sales strategies for his/her territory. Identifies opportunities for increasing sales and/or pursuit new business. Develops and implements plans and programs. Obtains information regarding customers’ present and anticipated needs, identifying opportunities for increased sales. Provides leadership that assists management in setting strategic initiatives and programs to achieve corporate strategies.

  • Acts as a leader in Commercial Excellence.


Requirements



  • Commercial Skills. Has strong ability to learn about the markets and applications and position our products/solutions in a way that creates and captures value for both Cabot and the customer.

  • Commercial Excellence skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively apply (key) account management concepts and tools.

  • Communications Skills. Ability to engage in verbal and written communications that are concise, clear, relevant, and delivered in the appropriate style and tone.

  • Customer Relationship Excellence. Ability to establish and maintain appropriate relationships with customers.

  • Results Driven. Demonstrates determination and know-how to take ownership and responsibility for achieving desired results.

  • Confronts issues and barriers in an effective manner.

  • Business Savvy. Knowledgeable about functional elements, which are important for business profitability. Able to ‘talk business’ at high levels.

  • New Business Alertness / Innovation. Utilizes knowledge of product capability to recognize opportunities where Cabot can provide solutions to customers’ needs.

  • Education/Experience. Bachelor’s degree, MBA desirable; 7+ years chemical industry sales experience.

  • Fluent in English, working knowledge in German is strongly preferred.
