Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams conceive original ideas for new products, introduce them into practice. They are responsible for product development, and qualification from market definition through production and release; assist in the qualification of suppliers for new products to ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services for new or improved manufacturing processes; conduct feasibility studies, testing on new and modified designs; direct and support detailed design, testing, prototype fabrication and manufacturing ramp. The R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams provide all required product documentation including, but not limited to, Solid Model, 2D/3D production drawings, product specifications, and testing requirements. They create and modify detailed drawings and drafting or conceptual models from layouts, rough sketches or notes and contribute to design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product. Typical fields of expertise include: materials, mechanics and systems, electrical, optics, chemistry, software, automation systems, packaging, testing and measurement, and manufacturing of electrical, mechanical and electronic components, products, and their integration into systems.

What your background should look like:


Main Activities



  • Define test plan, procedure and method according to requirement / standard

  • Schedule and organize test execution with the stakeholders

  • Execute electrical test when performed on site

  • Maintain certified product list up to date and pro actively plan recertification activities when needed

  • Lead, coordinate and execute Certified product documentation update

  • Initiate and conduct 8D analysis when failure in test execution with support of other functions

  • Support trainings, audit and follow up actions

  • Support to maintain test lab and test equipement to a high class level

  • Support production of prototypes when required


 


Authority and responsibilities



  • Define test plan according to customer requirement (internal/external)

  • Execute test and create test report according to plan

  • Responsibility for specific test equipment and facilities

  • Guarantee proto sample quality

  • Be accountable for keeping certificate valid

  • Review and approve Change Request when applicable to certified product

  • Be TE representative for 3rd body certifier : EX, CSA, KBA, CE

  • Managing Purchase requisition to insure propre execution test / certification activities


 


Specific professionnal skills:



  • Bachelor's / Master's degree or equivalent diploma in Electronic Engineering

  • Experience in Test plan management and execution

  • Knowledge of working in a highly regulated environment such as explosive atmosphere environment

  • Good knowledge in Standards related to equipment for use in Explosive Atmospheres: Directive ATEX 2014/34/EU, Explosive atmospheres EN IEC 60079-0, EN60079-11, CSA Ex & IECEx certification

  • Good knowledged in Electromagnetic compatibility (i.e: ISO11452, EN IEC61000-6, EN IEC61000-4, E/ECE/324 R10) and electrical test (i.e: ISO16750-2)

  • Good kowledge of IPC-A-610 and ability to manufacture prototypes (soldering)

  • Experience in Problem solving methodology

  • Experience in Functional safety and IEC61508 is a plus

  • DFSS GB is a plus

  • Ability to work and act in a professional manner with all levels of associates and interfaces with customers/supplier as required
