The Position
Purpose of the role is to make critical contributions to the annual and long-term vision, mission, strategy and infrastructure of Global Pharma Technical Regulatory (PTR). As a key strategic thinker and visionary leader, the Global Head of Business Systems provides leadership, management, and strategic and functional expertise to ensure the regulatory systems landscape meets the strategic needs of PTR as well as the daily operational requirements of platform and data quality standards of Roche.
In this role you are accountable for managing relationships with cross-functional stakeholders and work closely together to guarantee regulatory information in PTR systems is available, compliant and of high quality. In addition, you are accountable for the alignment of the Regulatory systems strategy with Pharma Development Regulatory, Pharma Informatics and the overall Technical Operations systems landscape. You will represent PTR in key internal and external meetings and other communications.
You serve as a standing member of the Operations and Business Excellence (OBE) leadership team and you will lead a global team of managers and individual contributors who lead the execution of systems projects and coordinate the ongoing end user support and training activities.
In addition you:
Drive best practices and operational excellence within Business Systems and across PTR and ensure appropriate systems and related processes across the organization globally
Play a lead role in driving your team and other PT Network teams toward continuous improvements and digitalization. You will encourage and reward innovation and accountability
Act as the PTR Business Process Owner for Master Data, leading PTR in ensuring adherence to PT data standards. You will be responsible for the System Strategy/Deployment and User Support functions. You will oversee shared systems with other organizations to ensure system changes will not degrade PTR performance
Lead planning and implementation of infrastructure changes for the global regulatory systems function, management and staff – organizational design, resource requirements, budgets, immediate- and long-term capacity
Enable recruitment, hiring and on-boarding for direct reports and other key positions across Regulatory Systems. May also support other cross-functional OBE leadership in their key appointments and/or be involved in other hiring decisions within OBE
Who you are
You have a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (informatics or life sciences disciplines preferred). An advanced Degree in related field is preferred.
You bring solid leadership experience with a background in Regulatory Affairs and solid knowledge of IT systems.
Pharma experience would be beneficial along with experience of digital transformation.

Ability to see the interrelationship of a project across “the big picture” and understand its dependency on other projects in the program as required
Proficient in navigating environment of cultural differences among PTR sites. Demonstrated success in communicating and presenting across a variety of audiences, including business people and technologists (both up and down the organization)
Outstanding business acumen and strategic agility: understands the pharmaceutical / biotechnology industry, the multiple functions and roles involved in the drug development process; is able to bring this to bear in accomplishing strategic goals and objectives
Strong influencing skills: proven abilities to get things done without formal authority. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Fluency in English; German language skills are considered a plus
