Your responsibilities



  • Development of new sealing materials and optimization of existing materials

  • Cultivating the internal chemical compliance system for monitoring and replacing of chemical substances (e.g. according to REACh)

  • Keeping close contact to material suppliers, and monitoring the market for new materials

  • Design of test methods and testing of materials in accordance with the chemical compliance, creating a pipeline of back-up material solutions

  • Supporting material developers in case of complex development projects, problem solving, escalation topics with both, customers and internally as well as participating in the execution of the development and cross-functional project tasks

  • Advancing of a failure analysis expertise to support developers and quality teams with critical analysis of compounds and final parts

  • Using broad technical skills to contribute other teams in R&D, engineering and advanced technologies in mutual development projects

  • Contributing to a culture of innovation by actively generating novel concepts and enhancements for materials, by identifying relevant trends, technical developments and translating these into internal innovation projects


Our requirements



  • A university degree in natural science or engineering in the fields of chemistry, materials science, polymers or chemical engineering 

  • Specific knowledge in one or more of following fields is welcomed: elastomers, nanomaterials, thermoplastics, surface and interfacial chemistry, or analytical chemistry

  • Willingness to travel globally to support customers and colleagues

  • Constructive, team-player, open-minded, innovative, committed, communicative and well structured, with the ability to work independently

  • Fluent in English (Level C1) and German (Level B2) with strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Knowledge of Korean or Chinese language or marketing skills will be of your benefit

  • Proficiency in writing detailed technical reports
