Located in the heart of Europe, yet forging connections all over the world, we work together to develop solutions for the global challenges of today and tomorrow.
The Functional Genomics Center Zurich (FGCZ) is a joint core facility of ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich that applies the latest omics technologies for biomolecular research and personalized medicine. The FGCZ Genome Informatics group supports researchers with the analysis and interpretation of next generation sequencing (NGS) data. Within that field the team covers raw data processing, high-performance computing, statistical evaluation, interpretation and integrated analysis. The team runs an excellent open source based software environment and establishes state-of-the-art data analysis, concepts and algorithms.
Job description
The successful candidate will extend the existing Genome Informatics team and will collaborate with the Laboratory of Translational Nutritional Biology of ETH Zurich. The main responsibilities will be the reproducible analysis and interpretation of omics datasets. Additionally, she/he will develop, implement and maintain reusable data analysis workflows and provide bioinformatics support to the Zurich research community.
Your profile
We are seeking a bioinformatician that is highly proficient in NGS data analysis and has very good scripting skills. The ideal candidate is highly communicative, team-oriented and is enthusiastic about statistical and bioinformatics analysis of NGS and other omics.
