ASPIRE Deployment (Business Enablement) Lead

ASPIRE is a multi-year program that will define, design, and deploy Future ERP solutions based on SAP S/4 HANA and other cloud/on-premise technology platforms. The program will enable simplified, standardized, and harmonized global business processes by leveraging SAP, Life Science Industry and Roche best practices. 


As the ASPIRE Deployment Lead, you will be overall responsible and accountable for the planning, monitoring and steering of all deployment related activities of the ASPIRE eco-system across the Roche group and managing the transition to the sustainable support organization (business / IT).


This is a key role to realize the strategic business objective of the ASPIRE program and requires VACC leadership and strong collaboration across multiple project teams, sites and functions with a customer centric mindset while protecting the core.


The global deployment lead will actively participate during the first pilot deployments and in parallel will ramp up an organization to move subsequently into an industrialized deployment phase. The role will report into the ASPIRE program management team (PMT) and will partner closely with the business functions.


Your primary responsibilities include:



  • Establishing, evolving and leading the global Deployment team and coaches, motivates and leads people involved in the deployment through the change


  • Owning the definition and optimization of the ASPIRE industrialized deployment framework and be accountable for the execution


  • Accountable for the individual deployments ensuring smooth go-lives across the Roche group in line with agreed milestones and budget


  • Staffing and leading the global / regional deployment project managers, and providing support and guidance to enable successful local deployments in close collaboration with the functions


  • Managing risks and issues and taking corrective actions and develop escalation procedures connecting the local, regional and global stakeholders and present one face to the customers


  • Coordinating interdependencies between the local/regional deployments


  • Ensures the transition to sustainment after go-live and together with the functional teams the maximization of the adoption


  • Managing stakeholders engagement, e.g. to the sponsors, the Aspire Operating Committee, leaders in the affiliates & business functions and the Program Teams.


  • Engage the organization on the ASPIRE vision of harmonized processes and standard systems using a global template approach, minimizing local adaptations during deployment as much as possible (protecting the core).


  • Keep close alignment with key partnering projects.


  • Accountable for the main project documentation and the deliverables at gated milestones (following Roche Project Management Methodology and SAP Activate)



You bring the following qualifications:



  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology or equivalent education


  • 5 to 10 years of project or program leadership experience, ideally in pharmaceutical environment


  • Experience with the implementation of large scale transformation projects and demonstrated delivery focus and execution


  • Ability to manage multiple projects & priorities simultaneously, to quickly establish rapport, and achieve results with and through others at all levels within the organization


  • Strong leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to empower multi-discipline teams, strong judgment and decision making skills.


  • Ability to lead without direct authority, superior problem solving skills, strong time and self-management skills, outstanding facilitation and presentation skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills


  • Demonstrated delivery focus and execution. Process transformation and large global transformation program experience is a benefit


  • Organized self-starter, detail and results oriented, proven ability to meet milestones and hence able to work under pressure and balance priorities


  • ERP savvy & good understanding of business processes.


  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and to find innovative ways to resolve issues


  • Good knowledge of cultural differences and the impact of this on communication and working styles


  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
