Warehouse Supervisor

Job Description


The incumbent will supervise Warehouse Associates and ensure the supply of materials in a timely manner for multiple concurrent manufacturing operations, they will lead a team of warehouse associates of 5-10 employees, will ensure compliance to cGMP’s and will adhere to all safety/IATA and relevant regulations.  The Supervisor will possess warehouse knowledge and the ability to collaborate with support groups impacting the warehouse (QC, QA, Manufacturing, Procurement, IT, Material Planning and Logistics).  The Supervisor will demonstrate the capability to effectively utilize problem solving competence, Human performance principles in support of work observations and root cause analysis with the successful execution of defined corrective actions. The Supervisor will facilitate periodic employee developmental, employee coaching and career development conversations.    


Specific responsibilities include:



  • Supervising Warehouse Associates – Responsible for Supervising up to 10 Warehouse Associates.  Ensuring Warehouse Associates are trained on warehouse procedures and have the capability to follow procedures and work instructions that govern warehouse processes.  Managing, motivating, training, and continually developing the warehouse team. Allocating time on the warehouse floor for work observations, employee development and process improvements. Daily responsibilities include tracking of operational, compliance and other performance metrics, as well as defining corrective actions and following up on them. Leveraging CAPA’s as a tool for process improvements within the warehouse.  

  • Contributing to effective utilization of warehouse and observing proper loading, unloading, stocking and safekeeping of items to maintain the quality of all GMP material to prevent product damage and avoid the occurrence of accidents and occupational hazards.

  • Contributing to continuous improvements and best practices for the warehouse. Supporting warehouse operations system improvements.

  • Participating in and supporting technical transfer teams, start-ups, design, and implementation of warehouse process changes.

  • Supervising receiving, warehousing, internal flows and shipping operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, personnel policies and procedures. Maintaining warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, and keeping track of training status of employees.

  • Developing a strong knowledge of automation systems and supporting troubleshooting and initiatives of continuous improvement.

  • Conducting regular cycle counts as per established schedules and guidelines. Evaluating and analyzing inventory variance.  Implementing preventive countermeasures based on the result of inventory variance analysis.

  •  Developing warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements; developing, implementing, enforcing, and evaluating policies and procedures; developing processes for receiving product, equipment utilization, inventory management, and shipping.

  • Supporting various regulatory audits and support CAPA’s generated from the audits. 


        


Qualifications



  • knowledge and expertise in supply chain/warehouse management

  • minimum one year of experience directly managing warehouse associates.

  • Experience and overall understanding of manufacturing processes and material flow

  • Strong communication skills both internal and external to the warehouse environment and the capability to consistently follow-up on various tasks. 

  • Collaborative, resilient and with a “can do” attitude

  • Fluent English

  • Readiness to work on different types of shifts as required by the business.


 


Education:         



  • Bachelor’s Degree (BS) preferred and 1-2 years of relevant supply chain and/or manufacturing experience

  • or an Associate Degree in a related supply chain field with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
