Brief Description:
Oracle’s Industry Advisors offer deep vertical industry subject matter expertise combined with many years working in executive-level positions. They have defined and executed IT and business strategic transformation initiatives led and contributed thought leadership in business and IT architecture, strategic roadmaps, best practices, and program execution. This extensive executive level experience allows them to quickly align Business and IT to drive innovation and synergy across the global enterprise.
Key Responsibilities:
IA’s are aligned to Oracle’s key strategic accounts (national and multi-national) working closely with the commercial leaders for those accounts. IA’s are actively engaged with a small number of strategic accounts within the industry sector where their vertical mastery can be maximised; they often work on-site to collaborate and participate with their Executive Sponsor and the Sponsor’s direct strategic team (IT or LOB) to work on large strategic and transformational deals with a clear focus on developing an ‘Oracle Cloud’ vision that can help maximise the customer’s potential and differentiation in their industry/industries.
Each significant customer interaction focused on a major customer transformation initiative is classed a ‘Transformation Blueprint’. Blueprints are tracked from the initial ‘origination’ activities through to the final stage of the sales engagement lifecycle. Success is measured through stage gates/measurable milestones to ensure success is being tracked throughout the customer (sales) engagement. Furthermore, it is expected that the IA develops strong partnerships with key Senior level Client executives relevant to each major customer transformation and that they become nominated sponsors of the IA led ‘Transformation Blueprint’.
Whilst IA’s work predominantly within the industry of their expertise, they also asked to work with their peers across industries to help develop x-industry propositions where relevant and/or to be able to relate relevant case studies from other industry to their customer’s situation.
An IA is responsible for determining the Oracle’s unique differentiation messaging within their Industry across ALL Oracle’s product pillars at a holistic, business capability level communicating short, mid and long-term business and solution improvement outlooks/roadmaps backed up by solid Industry Points of View that leverage a wide range of impactful customer case studies supporting key customer challenges. They will liaise with Enterprise and Architects as well as Product Specialists to communicate deeper proposition knowledge and end-to-end solution experience. They will also work directly with Oracle Product teams to ensure they are fully aware of Oracle’s strategic direction at high level across all lines of business with a specific focus on maximizing Oracle’s Cloud portfolio potential in an Industry context
Finally, in addition to Transformation Blueprint focused activities, IA’s provide leadership in helping Account leaders in developing their account strategies and plans, again with a strong focus on defining the Industry Potential where Oracle can provide great value to ensuring our customer's success.
In summary, an IA’s focus includes but is not limited to:
IA’s earn the ‘trusted advisor’ reputation with the customer through open and honest dialogue, innovative thinking, strategic alignment and a clear focus on customer success. Ultimately, an IA works closely with business leaders, IT, the Oracle account leadership team, Oracle Consulting and Oracle partners to ensure one message, one solution, one Oracle, one customer success.
