IT System Engineer Backup & Database (f/m/d)

We are looking for a System Engineer Backup and Database (f/m/d) to join our Corporate Infrastructure Operations Team.

Responsibilities

In your new role you will …

• be responsible to lead, engineer, configure, install, maintain and troubleshoot backup and database services


• work closely with our System Architects in designing and automating Software Defined backup and database infrastructure


• act as a technical team lead for the areas backup and databases


• configure, install, implement and troubleshoot SD infrastructure


• test, release and roll out new technologies and develop the services


• monitor system performance and guarantee hardware and software processes


• provide 2nd and 3rd level support and troubleshooting to resolve issues


• liaise with internal and external IT colleagues to resolve problems


• be part of corporate IT projects

Your Profile

This job is for you if you …

• feel comfortable with on-premises as well as with cloud services


• have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a comparable education


• have at least 5 years experience in database and backup technologies


• have good experience in IaaS and cloud solutions


• possess deep experience with IBM Spectrum Protect and Recovery and TBMR – Cristie Software ideally backed-up with the relevant IBM Certification


• have advanced experience with MS SQL


• gained already experience with databases services from AWS and are motivated to develop further in this area


• possess excellent customer orientation as well as strong technical problem solving skills


• have a high level of self-initiative and drive to get things done


• are willing to travel up to 10% on an international level


• are comfortable in communicating fluently in English and German both verbally and in writing
