We are seeking to recruit a talented and motivated chemist to join our research team at Stein International Research Centre, Switzerland.



  • You will have a strong interest in laboratory automation, a passion for data science and be looking to apply your experience in state-of-the-art research facilities.

  • You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team of synthetic chemists responsible for supporting research projects through high-throughput reaction optimization and process chemistry.

  • You will take an active role in evaluation and implementation of new software and hardware solutions for reaction optimization.

 

Qualifications

 

Critical Experience and Skills:



  • Practical and theoretical expertise in synthetic organic chemistry. Up-to-date knowledge of relevant scientific literature and latest experimental techniques is expected. Familiarity with Process chemistry, Catalysis and/or Bio-catalysis would be an advantage.

  • Demonstrated expertise in using complex analytical workflows to deliver quantitative and quality data sets for subsequent analysis and interpretation (LC/MS, GC/MS, NMR spectroscopy and the corresponding software applications) 

  • Interest in reaction development (optimisation, analytical development and design) and automation technologies (operation and programming of liquid handlers, robotic arms, purification systems).

  • Capability and passion for data science (reaction planning including DoE approaches, data analysis for insight and exploitation). Interest in programming and software development would be an advantage.

  • An excellent track record in solving complex problems and the ability to approach new problems in creative and innovative ways 

  • Ability to independently plan, organise and prioritise own time to achieve a high level of productivity
