The Centre for Global Public Goods seeks to bring innovation and frontier approaches to help the international system be more agile and equipped to respond to today’s challenges. It will do this by helping the international community leverage public-private cooperation, the Fourth Industrial Revolution and systems thinking for improved management of the global commons and building sustainable markets for the 2030 development goals.
The Platform for Global Public Goods (PGPG) acts as a systems leader and platform curator on the environment and natural resource security, the future of food, development finance and sustainable development. The centre seeks to bring innovation and frontier approaches to help the international system be more agile and equipped to respond to today’s challenges.
The Climate and Nature team, operates across the Platform for the Acceleration of Nature-Based Solutions (NBS), incorporating the nature-related carbon finance component across key communities, building a positive narrative around natural climate solutions and co-convenes the Natural Climate Solutions (NCS) Alliance.
The Climate and Nature initiative is growing the team and looking to add a project specialist to support their work on carbon markets, natural climate solutions and REDD+, contributing across project development, content research, events, communications and community management. Key work areas include the Nature & Net Zero report series, the NCS Alliance, interlinkages with external initiatives and coordination with the Climate Action Platform and Nature-based Solutions cluster.
Reporting lines and interactions
The role is based in Geneva within the World Economic Forum. The successful candidate will report to the Lead, Nature and Climate and work alongside the Specialist, NCS Alliance.
Internally, the selected candidate will collaborate closely with NBS platform colleagues on the Tropical Forest Alliance, 1t.org, the Nature Action Agenda and the Climate Action Platform, as well the media teams and the broader Centre for Global Public Goods. Externally, the role interfaces with a broad range of stakeholders, including businesses and non-governmental organisations.
Main responsibilities
The role of the NCSA Specialist will support day-to-day operations of the secretariat, community management and event coordination as well as liaising with communications teams.
