In our R&D department and HV Laboratory in Wettingen, we are currently looking for a highly skilled and motivated MV/HV Test Engineer to strengthen our team of researchers, engineers and & LC specialists in the area of varistors and surge arresters (Polymer housing and insulated in SF6).

Your responsibilities

• Plan and execute high voltage (AC, DC, transients) and high current (transient) tests in internal laboratories based on international standards and internal procedures to support routine, type and R&D testing


• Specifically including: a. Project Responsibility and accountability regarding testing; b. Defining the test programs; c. Organizing the tests including coordination with R&D, operations and life cycle projects, measurement techniques, logistics etc.; d. Lead and perform the testing; e. Post-processing of the testing results


• Reporting by means of generation of dedicated technical documentation


• Increase the understanding of testing in the technology development team. Improve the test methods and testing activities seeking for efficacy and efficiency by maintaining a proactive, constructive and fact-based mindset (e.g plan, schedule, booking process, post-processing of testing data, reporting processes)


• Plan the maintenance routines for the HV lab infrastructure and perform safety audits attached to H&S regulations


• Encourage team and colleagues to be aware of health and safety

Your background

• Engineering degree in electrical, power or high voltage engineering or a closely related subject


• First experience in medium/high voltage and, high current testing, including setups implementation


• Understanding of international standards (IEC, IEEE, GB, etc) for routine and type testing


• Knowledge in research and development of power equipment and electrical circuits is an asset


• Experience in traceability of measurement and uncertainties calculations


• Self-reliant, practical, and solution-oriented mindset; proactive, committed, willing to learn and flexible


• Experience with post-processing software (Matlab or similar tools) and basic electronics is considered advantageous


• Excellent communication / collaboration skills across all levels of the organization


• Fluent command of English both written and spoken; German is considered a plus
