Business Development Director
HealthTech Consulting


Switzerland, Lausanne

The Business Development Director develops the business in their assigned territory within the Biotech, Pharmaceutical and MedTech industries, to regularly achieve agreed sales and revenue targets in line with the annual company strategic plan and spontaneous opportunities.


Key Responsibilities


In alignment with, and representing, the values of VCLS, their main responsibilities are, but not limited to :



  • achieve agreed sales targets,


  • actively manage the sales pipeline to ensure the quantity and quality of opportunities to achieve agreed targets and growth plans


  • meet business development goals and objectives


  • manage the entire client inquiry and proposal process from opportunity to closed deal


  • lead and coordinate the required VCLS expert team to deliver high quality proposals that meet the client-specific needs in full and on time


  • expand the client base by identifying, targeting and contracting ‘good fit’ new clients


  • identify and exploit opportunities to extend and/or add new business with existing clients


  • cultivate strong relationships with key decision makers in ‘key’ accounts


  • coordinate with the VCLS Operations to develop strategies and business plans to achieve long-term profitable partnerships


  • maintain competence in area of expertise


  • maintain compliance with VCLS administrative processes and standards


  • represent VCLS professionally at all times upholding to the company values


  • engage with the VCLS continuous improvement culture


  • coordinate with project teams to anticipate, escalate, and proactively address client dissatisfaction



 

Experience:

           Life Sciences degree
    Consulting experience in Drug or Medical Device
    Minimum of 7+ years International Business Development experience in related organisations
            o   Consulting company
            o   Contract Research Organisation
            o    Regulatory Science and/or Market Access servic
            o    Biotech, Medtech, Pharma, Medical Device

  Personal attributes and skills:

  •        Proficiency in English; Fluent in German is a plus


  •        International culture.


  •        Commercially oriented with effective communication and negotiation skills


  •       Strong interpersonal skills, empathy and good EQ


  •        Leadership skills with the natural ability to coordinate and manage expert teams


  •        Innovative and pro-active


  •        Creative with the ability to develop effective solutions and solve problems


  •        Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, to adapt to ambiguity


  •        Ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines


  •        Highly organised, good planner


  •        Analytical with attention to detail in conjunction with big picture view


  •        In-depth knowledge of the biotech, pharma and HealthTech products market, and its current events in the local market
