Data Scientist, Life & Health - Internship for 6 months (80 - 100 %)

The role holder will join the global analytics group and should make a significant contribution to the enhancement of PartnerRe Life and Health’s value proposition.

 

They will be responsible for projects, such as:

• Import and analyze existing portfolios to estimate past and expected future profits (and their drivers)


• Support actuarial functions with specific data driven needs


• Build advanced regression and classification models based on structured and unstructured data

 Further tasks may include: 

• Reporting outcomes and explaining analyses to internal clients

Giving trainings and presenting at seminars

About you

You are technically excellent with relevant expertise, an ability to be pragmatic and commercial sense. A desire to experience new and challenging areas is a key requirement.

 

You excel at working and communicating in a dynamic, culturally diverse international environment. You lead complex developments and projects independently, but are also an effective team player ready to meet the business needs.

 

Efficiently handling sizeable data sets allows you to address questions posed by the business within short timescales.

 

Experience/Skills:

• Hands-on experience in data analysis and programming using the R language is required (especially tidyverse)


• Actuarial training and/or (re)-insurance data fluency is a plus


• Familiarity with usual modelling techniques


• Awareness of development practices such as unit testing, documentation and version control is also appreciated


• Fluent in English; additionally, German, Spanish or French would be an advantage

 Due to permit restrictions, you are either an EU or Swiss citizen, or entitled to work in Switzerland.
