For our Headquarter in Bironico (Ticino-Switzerland) we are looking for a:
Global EHS Manager
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Alongside BA Industrial Director and Plant Managers, responsible for Environment, Health, Safety practices and results across the G&C sites and teams
Ensures EHS best-in-class industrial standards are achieved in the framework of Imerys Safety System. Leads EHS systems of G&C operations and the on site EHS managers
Promotes a strong Safety culture across the G&C making EHS-policies and systems practical to ensure that EHS-core values are followed by everyone, including external partners.
Ensures industrial and mining operations of the G&C are run in compliance with local environmental regulations, best-in class industry practices and Imerys guidelines
Ensures that G&C sites establish proper Process Safety Management Systems
Prepares and advices the Management about corrective actions aiming at improving safety on engineering and technical interventions, equipment, organizational campaigns, specific instructions, courses and training, internal regulations, prohibitions, calls, signs, detectors, etc;
Prioritizes EHS programs and corrective action plans implementation
Ensures Emergency procedures are in place in all sites, including periodical drills and training. In case of any accident / incident, promptly conducts investigation and root cause analysis and defines in collaboration with the site the corrective action plans
Ensures proper training and communication related to EHS subjects for all new hires, employees (continuous learning) and contractors to create an EHS mindset in the entire organization.
Collaborates with Industrial Director G&C, Site managers and on-site EHS managers to transfer best practices quickly
Performs EHS site gap analysis with Imerys guidelines and local regulatory EHS standards
Shares good practices across BAs
Key interfaces: ensures tight coordination with Industrial Director, Plant Managers, Imerys CoE, BA Segments and local EHS teams
Team up with other functions to drive Operational Excellence and Quality & EHS Management Systems according to relevant ISO standards and best practices.
Actively participates in CSR efforts of G&C
Perform periodical audits and inspections for EHS topics and supervises that corrective action plans are established and completed according to plan
Accountability:
LTA / NLTA / Total injury rate
Near misses & Safety culture evolution (maturity matrix)
Compliance Vs Protocols / Health assessment / Chemicals
Env. Risk management / Reduction of waste / pollution
Life Cycle Analysis and assigned CSR protocols
Requirements:
Bachelor Degree (BA), Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering, chemistry, mining, environment or other related field.
Master in EHS related field preferred.
15+ years of experience overseeing EHS responsibilities in a comparable domain including 3+ years managing across multiple sites
Languages: Fluent in Italian and English, both written and spok
Strong capacity to lead the change and impact behaviors
Capacity to understand what’s trigger behaviors depending on typology of people
Well versed in local and industrial EHS regulations
Ability to positively influence teams in a matrix organization
Strong Leadership
Continuous Improvement and Cause/Effect mindset
Ability to organize skills development path
