For the Small Molecules/API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients) business area we are looking for a CAPEX Lead/Initiation for the highly growing  project/investment volume in Visp.


The CAPEX Lead/Initiation is assigned to CAPEX projects and is responsible for planning, managing and executing projects within the Small Molecules/API network during project evaluation & design phases, ESR up to CAR submission and into execution phase.This includes the coordination of activities through the whole Small Molecules network and involving multinational parties, whilst providing leadership to the project teams.  This role is at a Senior Project Manager level and has operative leadership of CAPEX projects.


Key responsibilities:



  • Responsible for delivery of project goals in terms of cost, time, functionality, regulations, cGMP, safety and according to expectations during project evaluation & design phase, ESR up to CAR submission and into execution phase


  • Establish project charter including scope of work, goals and deliverables together with the relevant project champion and project lead to support business objectives in collaboration with site level senior management and stakeholders


  • Identifying and recommending the internal and/or external resources to reach the project goals and managing day-to-day operational aspects of projects


  • Establishing the project team/structure necessary to reach the project goals and ensures appropriate coaching/development/performance feedback to all direct reports in order to develop a strong and competent team


  • Ensuring compliance with all pertinent safety policies, rules & regulations



Key requirements:



  • Master degree in engineering (process, pharmaceutical, biochemical engineering or equivalent) or long time and in-depth project management or operational experience in multiple international environments


  • Significant experience in project engineering and project management for chemical, biochemical, pharmaceutical industries or facility layout and optimization or equivalent


  • Experience and expertise in the field of site/facility/process and utility functionality, setup and layout, knowledge of current technology in the field of building, building technology, Drug Substance processes, automation and utility technologies


  • Experienced in cGMP rules and requirements, familiar with project management tools & software


  • Strong leader, motivating team player, drives results, excellent communication skills and experience in managing matrix-based cross-functional teams in the successful delivery of projects


  • Ability to handle a single large project or multiple small projects simultaneously, keeping track of costs, scope, risk and schedule while ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards


  • Excellent command of German & very good English skills, oral and writing


  • Persuasive, encouraging and motivating and strong interpersonal skills
