Java Full Stack Developer - Agency Trading Derivatives

Pictet Trading & Sales (PTS) provides direct access to global markets, offering bespoke trading solutions across a wide range of asset classes. Our sales traders, IT specialists, strategists and quant analysts are supported by a full suite of risk and control functions as well as the latest technology capabilities.


We are now expanding the team and therefore looking for a Java Full Stack Developer in the specific area of structured products and OTC derivatives. The post is based in Zurich and the chosen applicant will be responsible for developing high-quality solutions for the existing multi-issuer platform LionX.


As the successful candidate you will demonstrate in-depth knowledge of Java full stack development and substantial hands-on experience with designing, coding, testing, debugging and documenting software and enhancing existing components to ensure that software meets business needs.


Your role



  • Setting up a deployment pipeline and end-to-end testing environment.

  • Maintaining and providing support with the LionX application (DevOps).

  • Working with other software engineers in one or more agile teams assigned to the project.

  • Developing reusable patterns and encouraging innovation that will enhance team velocity.

  • Proactively challenging, designing or developing potential changes to the platform.


Your profile



  • Master’s in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Quantitative Finance, Computer Science, etc.

  • Extensive experience in Software Development and Application Lifecycle Management (>5 years).

  • Skilled Java full stack developer (>3 years).

  • Substantial hands-on experience with Java full stack development.

  • Good command of Javascript, Typescript and preferably Angular. Experience of scalable, low-latency systems and of other requirements relating to the trading of financial products.

  • Ambition to build automated and reproducible tests.

  • Experience with containerisation, microservices and test frameworks.

  • Strong analytical skills with solution orientation.

  • Able to work under stress.

  • Fluent in English and French.

  • Must be resident in Switzerland or willing to relocate.
