Prior knowledge about power systems is welcome, but it is not a requirement. We are looking for a (senior) scientist to strengthen our team at the Power Grids Research Center in Baden-Dättwil, Switzerland, in the area of software research with focus on real-time/embedded systems.

Your responsibilities

• Contribute to and lead research projects in software with focus on real-time/embedded systems and software architecture applied to power grids, green energy, and related fields


• Build prototypes of developed concepts with business impact


• Network in the company and actively distribute your knowledge and expertise


• Provide consultancy in the field of your expertise to our business units


• Collaborate with external partners including universities, startups and vendors


• Disseminate your results in scientific publications, patent applications, and technical reports

Your background

• PhD in computer science, software engineering or in a related field


• Theoretical and practical knowledge in software engineering and software architecture with a special focus on real-time/embedded systems, embedded system design, real-time operating systems (e.g. real-time Linux), multi-core systems


• Software development experience


• Experience in software product lines, software analysis tools, communication protocols/stacks, Industrial IoT, control and signal processing, or distributed systems is a plus


• Proven track record of publications at top scientific conferences or journalsEagerness to learn and willingness to start on new topics in domains such as grid automation, intelligent systems, and machine learning


• Excellent communication skills and team player attitude


• Fluency in English (written and oral)
