EPFL is looking for an Executive Director to manage and lead the EPFL Center for Quantum Science and Engineering (QSE).
The QSE Center was recently created at EPFL to establish and promote collaborative research in the QSE domain, to create a multidisciplinary educational offer in QSE so to attract the best young talents and breed the next generation of quantum scientists, and to develop and promote innovation and industrial collaborations in the QSE domain.
Executive Director (W/M, 100%)
Your mission :
In this mission, you will report to the Academic Director of the Center and you will manage the Center programs and activities in close collaboration with the Center’s executive board. Main duties and responsibilities include :
Representation to national and international audiences.
Coordination of outreach, communication, public events and public relations.
Coordination of the Center logistics and infrastructure.
Management of budget and finances, reporting.
Personnel management, including hiring.
Interface with faculty members and staff about the Center programs and activities.
Support search and identification of funding opportunities and potential external partners
Participation in the implementation of the roadmap and strategic direction of the Center, in close collaboration with the Academic Director of the center and under the supervision of the Center’s Board of Directors and Scientific Committee.
Take part in the development and implementation of collaborative research program in quantum science and engineering at EPFL.
Participation in the development and implementation of educational program (Master in quantum science and engineering, excellence Master fellowships).
Development and implementation of technology transfer program.
Development and management of collaborations with companies and universities in Switzerland and worldwide.
Organization of scientific and management events, annual review activities, and program updates.
Your profile :
You are a confirmed team leader, with proven capacity to inspire people and build trust.
You have a PhD Degree with a proven research background in the domain of quantum science engineering, and have a good knowledge of the academic world.
You have strong experience in project management, business and partnership developments.
You have experience in raising funding from various sources and in proposal writing.
You have experience in interacting with industrial partners, government bodies and universities.
You are fluent in English and French.
