For the Editorial Development Unit within the “Labs” arm of Karger Publishers, focused on strategy and innovation, we are looking for a motivated person to join our organization as a


Publishing Specialist, Editorial Development Communication (80-100%)


This multifaceted role includes:



  • Shaping Editorial Development communication, particularly related to editorial boards and other external stakeholders

  • Developing and maintaining consistent communication materials

  • Supporting journal launches and commissioning projects, including subject area research and competitor analysis

  • Acting as a hub to Marketing and Insights

  • Collaborating on process design and standardization (e.g. of documents) as required

  • General administration assistance for Heads of Editorial Development / Publication Managers as required:



  • Coordinating schedules and travel arrangements

  • Handling social media posts

  • Preparing standardized documents (presentations, records) based on detailed specifications


Qualification and experience required:



  • Professional qualification in business administration

  • Significant experience in a similar role

  • Passion for stakeholder communication

  • Desk research experience (competitor analysis, market research)

  • Familiar with social media

  • Very good IT skills (MS Office 365)

  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English and German, additional languages a plus
