What it's about

The Portfolio Management business unit is responsible for the strategic steering and portfolio management of the private market investment mandates of Partners Group. The group furthermore supports the acquisition & retention of institutional clients and distribution partners with an emphasis on segregated accounts, semi-liquid private market solutions and new product initiatives. We are now looking to add a mid-level professional to our growing practice, based in Zug. You will be part of the Portfolio Management team and have the following responsibilities:

• In collaboration with client relationship managers, manage client acquisition and retention as expert for the firm's private market investment strategy, relative value considerations and portfolio construction


• Preparation of proposals and presentations for firm wide management and investment committees


• Key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on portfolio construction, relative value across private markets and efficient use of capital across the firm's program range


• Initiation and implementation of global portfolio management initiatives, contributing to the development of innovative & bespoke private market offerings


• Conduct various tasks related to portfolio management, implementation and monitoring of portfolios, market research and internal requests
   

• Top academic credentials (MSc/MBA preferred), coursework emphasis on Business Strategy, Finance, Economics and Mathematics will be prioritized


• Professional qualification (e.g. CFA, CAIA) desirable but not a requirement


• 6-8 years' work experience predominantly in private markets or private equity investments, and/or portfolio construction experience linked to private markets in a multi-asset context


• Understanding of a wide variety of investing styles across private markets, in depth knowledge of principles of portfolio construction


• Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to pitch complex topics to clients


• Proven leadership skills, ability to develop talent, set and monitor challenging goals


• Strong work ethic with a desire to learn and succeed


• Proficiency in English is a must
