At CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe. Using the world's largest and most complex scientific instruments, they study the basic constituents of matter - fundamental particles that are made to collide together at close to the speed of light. The process gives physicists clues about how particles interact, and provides insights into the fundamental laws of nature. Find out more on home.cern.
Introduction
You are a motivated technician in the field of electronics, with experience in solid state and/or tube amplifiers? Do you relish a challenge? Join CERN’s Radio Frequency Group, to work on the amplifiers, which power CERN’s linear accelerators (Linacs). CERN, take part!
Become part of a multinational team of experts who design, test, commission and maintain the Radio Frequency (RF) amplifiers, that provide the power for the acceleration of particles. The Linac Radio Frequency Section (LRF: be-dep-rf.web.cern.ch/content/lrf-linacs-rf) is responsible for the RF systems of all linear accelerators at CERN, including the injectors for LHC, the largest particle accelerator on earth. We offer extensive on the job training and the opportunity to work on unique technical systems, providing Megawatts of peak power in the frequency range of a few 100 MHz.
