Actelion is a leader in the field of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). Our portfolio of PAH treatments covers the spectrum of disease, from WHO Functional Class (FC) II through to FC IV, with oral, inhaled and intravenous medications.

  
Job Responsibilities 

In this traineeship, you will have exposure to the multi-functional process of drug development and learn where and how pharmaco-epidemiology contributes to both the development of new products and its role in the post-approval setting for marketed products. You will be working in the Epidemiology and Observational Studies team within Research and Development, supporting the Epidemiologist in the following tasks:

 

  • Contribute to the PAH disease interception company objective:



    • perform a literature search on existing Real-World Evidence algorithms used in health reimbursement databases for two diseases (PAH and CTEPH)

    • produce an aggregated document on various algorithms used in Actelion studies/publications

    • publish a guidance article in a peer-reviewed journal for the PAH/CTEPH community

    • represent epidemiology in several initiatives (prediction model, patient patterns, market growth)


  • Perform reviews of the epidemiological literature

  • Contribute to and review Epidemiology and Observational Study documents as well as documents generated by other departments such as Global Drug Safety, Global Market Access, Global Clinical Science, Global Medical Affairs

  • Review data collected from Observational studies, including work with statisticians to design analysis plans

  • Result interpretation

 
Candidate Requirements
 

  • Master in Epidemiology/Public Health or Other graduate (e.g. Medical or Pharmacy) degree with specific coursework/training in Epidemiology

  • Good English skills (spoken and written)

  • Good computer skills

  • Team spirit, sense of responsibility, accuracy, flexibility and autonomy
